2025 Nissan Qashqai Gets a Bold New Look and Exciting Upgrades
Are you ready to experience the next level of crossover excellence?
The 2025 Nissan Qashqai has undergone a major facelift, featuring a striking new front end and a range of new features. With its updated design and enhanced capabilities, this crossover is set to make a statement on the roads. Nissan Australia has confirmed that the updated Qashqai will launch before 2025, generating a lot of anticipation. While local specifications are yet to be confirmed, the carmaker is expecting arrivals towards the end of 2024.
The 2025 Nissan Qashqai has undergone a comprehensive facelift, resulting in a bold and eye-catching new front end. The chrome grille surround trim has been replaced with a wider intake that draws inspiration from ancient Japanese armour scales. This new design element, finished in high-gloss black and satin chrome, gives the Qashqai a distinctive and modern appearance.
The Qashqai’s headlights have also been upgraded with slimmer LED units that now include an adaptive high-beam function. Despite their smaller size, these headlights provide a wider beam compared to the previous model. On high-spec grades, the daytime running lights now serve as sequential indicators while turning, a first for the Qashqai. The tail lights retain their original shape but feature elements that mirror the grille insert, adding a cohesive and stylish touch to the rear of the vehicle.
European-market Qashqai models will benefit from larger wheels, with 18-inch wheels available for mid-range grades and 19- and 20-inch sizes offered for higher grades. The introduction of a new N-Design grade in Europe brings additional enhancements such as body-colored trim, 20-inch wheels, black quilted leather seats with embossed Qashqai wording, and ambient lighting. Furthermore, three new colors and five two-tone combinations with a black roof will be available for customers to choose from.
The interior of the facelifted Qashqai offers a more luxurious and refined experience. Well-equipped variants now feature an increased use of Alcantara, which can be found on the dashboard, door inserts, armrests, center storage console lid, and knee pads. The center console, upper dashboard, and glove box showcase a patterned design, enhancing the overall aesthetics. Higher grades receive even more premium seat trim, including black partially quilted premium leather or quilted synthetic leather with burnt umber inserts.
The safety of the Qashqai has also been significantly improved. A new bird’s eye surround-view camera provides drivers with eight different external camera views, allowing for better visualization of the vehicle’s surroundings. In addition, the autonomous emergency braking system has been recalibrated to include an emergency stop signal when the brakes are pressed hard above 60km/h. The emergency lane-keep system now activates by default, and the updated speed assistance system can read traffic signs and alert the driver if the speed needs to be reduced. Drivers also have the ability to customize the assist systems according to their preferences.
Nissan has incorporated Google built-in services within the Qashqai’s 12.3-inch infotainment system, making it the first model on sale in Europe to offer this feature. With the ‘Hey Google’ voice assistant, drivers can easily control various vehicle functions, including the ventilation system, heated seats, and navigation. Additionally, Google applications can be added to the infotainment system via the Google Play Store, providing users with even more convenience and connectivity.
However, compared to the European market, the drivetrain options for the Qashqai in Australia are more limited. While overseas variants offer a mild-hybrid system and all-wheel drive, the current Australian model is equipped with a turbocharged 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine powering the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission. The Qashqai e-Power hybrid, which combines a 140kW/330Nm electric motor with a turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, has yet to be confirmed for Australia. Pricing and detailed specifications for the 2025 Nissan Qashqai will be announced closer to its local launch, generating further excitement for this highly anticipated crossover.
