Are you ready to experience the future of driving with the updated Mercedes-Benz EQA?
Mercedes-Benz has made updates to its EQA electric vehicle, resulting in a price increase for the base model. The Australian division of the brand has replaced the EQA 250 with the new EQA 250+, which offers a larger battery for increased driving range. Meanwhile, the more expensive dual-motor EQA 350 4Matic has only received minor visual changes and a limited price increase. Let’s take a closer look at the details.
Mercedes-Benz has updated its EQA electric vehicle lineup, bringing improvements to the base grade while also introducing a price increase. The previous EQA 250 has been replaced by the new EQA 250+, which now comes with a larger battery for greater driving range. This upgrade has resulted in a $2600 increase in price over the previous model. However, the previously optional AMG-Line package, valued at $2269, is now included as standard.
On the other hand, the dual-motor EQA 350 4Matic has only undergone minor visual changes and has a more limited price increase. It now starts at $102,900, which is $321 more than before.
The EQA 250+ has received a torque increase compared to its pre-facelift model. Its electric motor now delivers 140kW of power and 385Nm of torque to the front wheels. Meanwhile, the EQA 350 4Matic retains the same power and torque figures as before, with 215kW of power and 520Nm of torque. The EQA 250+ also benefits from a larger battery, measuring 70.5kWh, which allows for a significant increase in driving range. On the WLTP lab test cycle, it can now achieve 496km to 560km of range, compared to the previous model’s 426km. The EQA 350’s driving range figures remain unchanged at 412km to 459km.
In terms of dimensions, the Mercedes-Benz EQA measures 4463mm in length, 1834mm in width, and 1619mm in height. It rides on a 2729mm wheelbase. The storage space details of the updated EQA have not been disclosed yet, but the previous model had a maximum capacity of 340L with the rear seats up, which could be expanded to 1320L when folded.
Mercedes-Benz offers a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty for the 2024 EQA. Servicing is required every 12 months or 25,000km. The pricing for servicing has not been announced for the updated model, but the current EQA is available with pre-paid service plans for three, four, and five years.
In terms of safety, the Mercedes-Benz EQA received a five-star rating from ANCAP based on testing conducted in 2019. It scored high ratings in adult and child occupant protection, as well as vulnerable road user protection and safety assist. Standard safety equipment includes nine airbags, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and more.
The EQA 250+ comes with a range of standard equipment, including 20-inch alloy wheels, AMG-Line exterior styling, LED headlights, adaptive high-beam, and rear privacy glass. Inside, it features a Nappa leather steering wheel with haptic controls, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with updated MBUX operating system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and more. Other notable features include a three-year Chargefox subscription, semi-autonomous parking assist, and a panoramic sunroof.
The EQA 350 adds additional features such as a Burmester 3D surround sound system, a head-up display, MBUX gesture functions, and extended automatic restart in traffic.
