Xpeng G6 Electric SUV Confirmed for Australian Market with Pre-Orders Now Open
Are you ready to experience the power and innovation of the Xpeng G6 electric SUV?
TrueEV, the Australian importer, distributor, and retailer, has officially confirmed the local specs for the Xpeng G6 electric SUV. While the price is yet to be revealed, pre-orders have opened for this Tesla Model Y rival. Customers can secure a G6 with a fully refundable $1000 deposit, ensuring priority access to the first batch arriving in Australia later this year.
TrueEV has confirmed that the pricing details for the Xpeng G6 will be announced in September. This will give potential buyers a clearer idea of the cost of this highly anticipated electric SUV.
When it comes to picking up the G6, customers will have the option of collecting their new vehicle from delivery centers in Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney. For those who prefer the convenience of home delivery, TrueEV is offering free delivery to most locations.
The Xpeng G6 will come in two variants, both featuring an 800V electric architecture. The Standard Range Battery variant will offer a range of 435km and is equipped with a 66kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. On the other hand, the Long Range Battery variant will have a range of 570km and a larger 87.5kWh nickel cobalt manganese battery.
One notable feature of the Xpeng G6 is its impressive DC charging capacity, which can reach up to 280kW. This means that owners will be able to charge their vehicles quickly and efficiently.
While a dual-motor all-wheel drive version of the G6 is available in other markets, it has not been confirmed yet for Australia. However, customers will still have a choice between a white or black interior, allowing them to personalize their G6 to their liking.
When it comes to the exterior, the Xpeng G6 offers a range of colors to choose from. These include Arctic White, Silver Frost, Graphite Grey, Midnight Black, and Fiery Orange. With such a diverse color palette, customers can select the hue that best suits their style.
As for the standard equipment, the Xpeng G6 leaves no stone unturned. It comes equipped with a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-way power driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, a heated steering wheel, two 50W wireless phone chargers, an 18-speaker 960W Xopera sound system, a panoramic glass roof, 20-inch alloy wheels, vehicle-to-load capability, and a heat pump for optimal climate control.
In terms of dimensions, the Xpeng G6 closely matches the Tesla Model Y. It measures 4753mm in length, 1920mm in width, and 1650mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2890mm. This ensures that the G6 provides ample space for passengers and cargo.
Xpeng, the Chinese brand behind the G6, was established in 2014 and has been steadily making a name for itself in the EV market. In addition to the G6, Xpeng offers a range of other electric vehicles, including the larger G9 SUV, the P5 and P7 sedans, and the X9 people mover.
While Xpeng initially focused on the Chinese market, it has expanded its reach to Europe and the Asia Pacific region. Through strategic partnerships, Xpeng aims to bring its high-quality EVs to a wider audience.
According to TrueEV CEO Jason Clarke, the Australian market is ready for the Xpeng G6 and the growing interest in electric vehicles. He believes that there is plenty of room for vehicles like the G6 and predicts an upcoming explosion of EV sales.
The pricing for the Xpeng G6 in Australia has not yet been announced. However, Mr. Clarke hinted that the starting price will be below $60,000, potentially closer to $55,000 before on-road costs. This competitive pricing puts the G6 in direct competition with the Tesla Model Y, which also starts at $55,900 before on-road costs.
