Compared to the outgoing model, the new Superb liftback is slightly larger, measuring 43mm longer and 12mm taller. It maintains the same width and wheelbase.

Inside, the Superb boasts a modern interior design with a 13-inch touchscreen for infotainment, a head-up display, and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. It also features three large rotary dials with digital screens for various functions like climate control and driving modes.

Skoda’s ‘Smart Dials’ offer a combination of haptic and digital controls, allowing easy access to features like seat heating, air conditioning, and map zooming.

The new Superb will continue to offer various engine options, including petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Skoda Australia, however, will not offer PHEVs and has ceased selling diesel models.

The base engine is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a mild-hybrid system, while there are also 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel options. The most powerful petrol and diesel engines will come with all-wheel drive.

When it comes to safety, the new Superb liftback will be equipped with 10 airbags, autonomous emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction assist, and a surround-view camera system.

While Australian customers will have to wait until late 2024 or early 2025 for the new Superb, Skoda has assured that there will be more current-gen models available in the meantime. The brand will offer a few more of the outgoing generation to meet customer demand.

As for the current Superb lineup, the 162TSI Style liftback and wagon models will be discontinued starting from the fourth quarter of this year.
