Looking for a stylish and versatile SUV? Will the new five-door Suzuki Jimny be the perfect choice for you?

If you were hoping to snag an automatic Suzuki Jimny, you’re out of luck. The highly sought-after three-door Jimny automatic became available for orders in Australia, and all 500 units were sold out in less than five hours. And it’s not just a few orders here and there – some dealers received over 40 orders for this model alone. But don’t worry, there’s still more to come from Suzuki.

The demand for the three-door Jimny has been high ever since it made its debut in 2019. In fact, wait times for the three-door manual Jimny were longer than six months earlier this year. And the two-tone cars are even harder to find due to limited production.

But Suzuki has some good news for eager customers – a longer five-door model is on its way. Set to launch in the first quarter of 2024, this new body style will offer more space and options. Pricing and specifications will be announced in November.

During the recent reopening of orders for the three-door Jimny automatic, Suzuki Australia also took pre-orders for the upcoming five-door model. In just a short amount of time, they received over 1500 pre-orders for this new variant. The five-door Jimny is longer than the three-door model, with added length to the wheelbase and increased ground clearance.

Despite the added bulk, the drivetrain remains the same, with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and part-time four-wheel drive system. Customers can choose between a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

While it’s uncertain how the supply will be for the five-door Jimny, one thing is clear – the demand for this compact SUV shows no signs of slowing down. With over 1500 pre-orders already, Suzuki is expecting the five-door model to boost Jimny sales even further.
